What is Prism?

Prism is the server-side, first-party conversion tracking layer built into Adsidian, the AI ad operations platform for agencies, businesses running their own ads, and businesses using Adsidian's managed service. It combines website events with connected server-side sources and delivers configured conversions to ad platforms. Measurement coverage depends on your setup, available data, browser behavior, and visitor consent.

New to Adsidian?

These are the technical install docs. For what the platform does — cross-platform Meta and Google campaign management, creative, and the AI agent — start at adsidian.ai, or read the first-party tracking overview for the non-technical version of this page.

How it works

  1. A tracking subdomain on your domain. You point track.yourdomain.com at Prism with a CNAME record. Browser tracking protections can still apply to a subdomain backed by another provider.
  2. An asynchronous snippet loads from that subdomain and captures page views, ad click IDs (fbclid, gclid, and others), UTMs, and configured custom events. Payload size varies by capture profile; see Installing the snippet.
  3. A server-set identity cookie. Prism configures the HTTP-only adsidian_id cookie with a one-year expiry. Actual retention can be shorter because of browser protections, consent, or user deletion. Safari can cap HTTP cookies in detected CNAME/IP cloaking scenarios; see WebKit's tracking prevention documentation.
  4. Server-side delivery. Configured events and available match data are sent to connected ad platforms. Delivery status and reconciliation help you investigate gaps; server-side delivery does not guarantee attribution by an ad platform.
